Sedona Sunset!

Okay, you've waited long enough. It's simple, easy, uses beautiful fabrics and fits a twin sized bed perfectly so make two!

Strawberries, Cherries & the Angels Kissing Spring

May 2013
At last I finished it for the MQS show in Wichita, KS where it won a 2nd place ribbon in the all-over quilting category.  It makes a lovely color-rich backdrop for Rainbows varigated thread and some quilting that gives movement and interest to the surface.

I'm going to design something really pretty with this....stay tuned!

Show Off Tablerunner!

Originally, I designed "Show Off! Tablerunner" to showcase some bright, fun contemporary prints.
It took me awhile to figure out how to put the four patch between the on-point squares. It's a bit of an optical illusion that requires some simple assembly tricks. I liked it in these fabrics.
But then I found this POPPY print by Laura Gunn for Michael Miller fabrics -- and I LOVED it in these fabrics!
Enjoy, Lori

Color Splash Conclusion!

I know you've been dying to know what I made with those fabrics posted LAST YEAR on July 4th! Blooming Patchwork. Kits are available for this quilt at www.the-sampler.com Enjoy.

How Yummy Are These Fabrics?

I just LOVE the Kaffe Fassett stripes and shot cottons. They are a little primitive compared to the smooth high quality cottons that we typically see in quilt shops BUT, and this is a big BUT, they are yarn dyed wovens from India that have a particularly warm, earthy appeal.
What do you suppose I should make with these?
I have a little something in mind that my friends at DCSQ suggested that I name "TV Test Pattern!" Stay tuned.

Stick Candy

You guessed it; it is the same quilt as "Mocha Latte" but in Kaffe Fassett fabric instead. Big Difference. It's my little quilter's way of beating the winter blues!

Mocha Latte

Kinda reminds me of a great thick rich coffee with whipped milk and a little stir stick cuz that's what this quilt evokes when I look at it.

Start with a cappucino Bali pop, add some browns, and really dark browns (I so LOVE brown -- it's the new black, you know!), sort them into four groups and start strip piecing and subcutting.

You can have this generous lap size made up in a couple of afternoons. No kidding.
